Tweeters,
I was delighted to find a flock of around 25 Red Crossbills in a small grove
of Doug fir trees near the center of Lummi Island. The profuse cones and
the bright Crossbills were perfect tree decor for the day. It's the first
time I've seen Crossbills in the lowlands of Whatcom County.

Other highlights were ~160 Trumpeter Swans on the Lummi flats and a Pileated
Woodpecker near the top of Lummi Mountain.
