..........................14 Trumpeter Swans were sighted Mon. at Black
Lake on Highway 101 at Illwaco, Wash. Swimming with the Swans was one
large Canada Goose.
...........................Under clear, windless, fog free 55 degree
skies, walked the beach. So clear I could see all of the Olympic Mts.
and Mt .Rainier over Willapa Bay to the north and east. Wow!!!!!
...........................Plenty of the usual small winter-resident
shorebirds to be seen. Didn't see any Black-bellied Plovers though.
Strange!!
...........................On Sun.----at White-tailed deer refuge at
Cathlamet, Wash-----A good number of Ring-necked Ducks, Common
Goldeneyes and Common Mergansers among the more common black and white
diving ducks and assorted dipping ducks. Admired a small Am. Kestrel on
a telephone line, along with some more common hawks. White-tailed deer
were seen in a number of places. Lots of small wrens flitting about.
.....................Have a good day!!!
