Hi Tweets - While birding at the Nisqually Wildlife area yesterday in
beautiful crisp, clear weather (no fog), we discovered a white headed robin.
There were many robins along the trail which parallels the river, and one
robin had white feathers on the top of its head and nape of neck. It almost
looked like a birthmark and the rest of the bird was colored normally. We
got to look at this bird up close with the bino's for some time.
The real highlight of the day was two adult peregrines, which we had great
scope views of. Neither bird was banded, they were identical in coloration,
and size. We wondered if male and female peregrines are close enough in
size to make them difficult to tell which is male or female?
