pm update.

Rare bird alert continues for the BLACK and WHITE WARBLER.

Featured birds are BLACK & WHITE WARBLER and COMMON REDPOLL.

Sightings for Wednesday, December 29

The BLACK and WHITE WARBLER continues to be seen along River Rd. between
Savage and the picnic area west of No. 7 Rd. The bird has been found most
often near the picnic area. Most observers have remarked that the bird has
been feeding low in the trees. The bird usually is in the company of a
large flock of Chickadees and Kinglets.

Twelve BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were observed near the foor of Stearnman Ave.
in West Vancouver.

A MERLIN was reported from Boundary Bay Regional Park.

On Sea Island several hundred metres NE along the dike from the end of the
Iona Sea Island Causeway were several COMMON REDPOLLS, and 2 AMERICAN TREE
SPARROWS. Three BARN OWLS were sighted in the Cora Brown Area.

Tuesday, December 28

Four GREATER YELLOWLEGS and 130 BRANT were located at Beach Grove Lagoon.

Four SHORT-EARED OWLS were seen along 72nd St. and a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was
spotted on 56th north of Hwy #17.

Monday, December 27

The provisional total for the Ladner CBC was 139 including highlights of an
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, TOWNSEND'S WARBLER, good numbers of LINCOLN'S
SPARROWS, 4 or 5 AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS and a WILLET.

The BLACK and WHITE WARBLER was reported from River Rd.

A HERRING GULL was seen from the Stanley Park Seawall west of Lumberman's
Arch and an AMERICAN DIPPER was seen in the creek feeding out of the Beaver
Pond.

Sunday, December 26

The BLACK and WHITE WARBLER was seen near the picnic area west of #7 Rd. on
River Road. Near this location was a SPOTTED SANDPIPER.

Two SANDHILL CRANES was observed near a children's play area near Martin
and Westham Island Rd.

Saturday, December 25

The BLACK and WHITE WARBLER was reported from various locations along River
Road from west of savage to the Picnic area west of #7 Rd.

A HORNED LARK was reported from Blackie Spit.

Colony Farm was the location of 2 GREAT HORNED OWLS, a NORTHERN SHRIKE and
a COOPER'S HAWK.

A walk along the Sea Island dike from the causeway to Shannon Rd. resulted
in the sighting of 2 AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS, 2 WESTERN MEADOWLARKS, a
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER and 8 to 10 COMMON REDPOLLS.

Four CRESTED MYNAS were seen on Spyglass Pl. which is just west of the
Cambie ST. Bridge.

Thirteen BLACK TURNSTONES were reported near Stanley Park's 3rd Beach.
