Subject: Marymoor Park Report (King Co WA) 12/30/99

I went back to Marymoor this afternoon to look at Canada Geese. There were
many hundreds there this morning, including at least 4 of the *minima* race.
There had also been some large geese with white neck rings and white marks on
the head above the cheek patch (one that I observed seemed to have white
eyebrows). After checking the web, I had wanted to see if these geese were of
the *maxima" or Giant race.

While I was unable to find those particular geese, I did find a single GREATER
WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE in amongst a flock of around 200 Canadas near the tennis
courts. We almost certainly saw this bird flying by in the morning.

The group of four Snow Geese was still on the grass soccer fields at 4:00 this
afternoon.

3 Geese species plus 8 duck species is pretty good...
