A SHORT-EARED OWL was along the south dike at Cowichan Bay.

A female BLACK DUCK was at the end of Indian Road which is off Maple Bay
Road just north of Duncan.

An unusual gull, not yet identified, is also close to Duncan. Phone

earlier this month in Pedder Bay also in Metchosin.
