Hello Tweeters!

Last Saturday I was down at the Fishing Pond near the intersection of
West Meeker and Kent-DesMoines Road in Kent where I spotted some wigeons.
There were several pairs of American wigeons and a pair of odd wigeons.
The female in this pair looked like the other females, but the male
swimming with her looked like a washed out American or Eurasian. His
coloring was neither American or Eurasian, but it did have the white-ish
streak down the back of its head, just the rest of the head color was
washed out. Do the Eurasian and American wigeons interbreed?

How common are black ringed gulls around town? These crow sized gulls
were also hanging out at the same pond with the usual larger "dumpster
diving" gulls. What are the "dumpster divers" really called? There are
so many gull species!

Thanks,
