Folks

A while back there was a question about white rumped birds. I was
reading some notes I had taken when I was in Texas, I just moved to Idaho
at the first of this year, and I found a reference to an observation I
had made a year or so ago. It had snowed, very unusual in East Texas,
and when I looked out the kitchen window to check the feeders, all of the
birds had white tails and rumps. I looked at them with binoculars and
saw that it was snow. There were several species of birds involved and
they had snow on them for about an hour before it melted or was shaken
off.
