For the kingfisher compiler - 1-31-99 by the Ajax cafe in Hadlock, 1
male kingfisher.

Quite often 2 kingfisjers aree seen at Kah Tai lagoon, near the nursing
home, in Pt Townsend.

1-31-99 Sequim - Cary bleake park, outskirts of Sequim on the south
end, I have consistantly over 4-5 visits, including today, seen a flock
of am. widgeons with 1 beautiful Era. widgeon.

Also saw a buch of deer this day. 13 total. Hadn't sen any since
before hunting season!

2-1-99
Central valley in chimacum, where chimacum creek floodsand became
temporary "chimacum lake" 22 swans. Could not ID which swan.

2-3-99 !:00 pm, going back to work after lunch, there were 13 great blue
herons circling over Kah Tai Lagoon, Pt. Townsend!!! First time I have
seen that many of them flying atthe same time and same area!!

2-4-99 Did some birding this afternoon.
Fort Flagler - Robins, 1 red shaft. flicker,, 15 brants,coming in for a
landing, mature bald eagle fly over, Widgeon ,
Mystry Bay on Marrastone. - several m and f hooded mergensers, red
breasted mergie m & f,buffleheads, barrows goldeneye m &f, 7-8 lesser
scaups, f common mergie,1 yellow billed loon,eared grebe,
and a flock of mixed sparrows. I have not donea lot with sparrow ID.
Know some of them. There were golden crowned adult and juveniles,white
throasted sparrow, white crowned sparrow, juncos, song sparrow,, tan
morph of white throate3d sparrow - book just calls it a tan stripped
white throat sparrow, Towhee.
At an Estuary off to the right as you go from Indian Is t Marrowstone,
before the causeway,250 to 300 brant geese. Now I know where the ones I
usually se at lower Oak Bay in Hadlock - where they have gone. Saw them
about 4:50 pm. They were very very noisey!!I did not need a close look
to know they were brandts!! Checked lowere oak bay right after that -
only thing of note was a great blue heron!
