I can add another vote for the durability of the Kowa TSN-4. Mine tipped
over, dented the glare screen, but everything else is in fine shape. I
have a TriPak and have used it for about 5 years. It works great -
really distributes the weight of a Kowa/Bogen tripod/head combo. I have
found that if often helps in putting it on or off to have the legs of
the tripod slightly extended, you can then grab one of them after
putting the first strap on and help swing the other side on. I find I
take the scope lots of places now that I would have hesitated before
because of the "sore-shoulder" weight factor.
