Subject: Went out with Seattle Audobon Society today and what did we see?

--- gyrfalcon --- only one, but man it was a beauty

starlings (obviously)

(fox sparrow -- I heard but didn't see this one)

The trip was fabulous led by Dave Swayne and explored the Snohomish area. I'm
new here (from the east coast) and am just overwhelmed by the birds I've been
seeing. Check the WASHINGTON rare bird alert hotline for exact directions to
see the Gyrfalcon.


Also I've seen some strange ducks at Montlake. Look like they could be
interbred mallards. Green head, brown body with white neck and front. Some of
them also have what appear to be white eyebrows. Very strange looking. Has
anyone else seen these guys?
