Hi Tweets -

Went up to the Samish/Skagit Flats today, and had a good day. No rain,
but windy. Good raptor day - lots of eagles, several Red-tailed Hawks,
Northern Harriers, some gorgeous Rough-legged Hawks, and a four falcon
day. Nice looks at a beautiful gray-morph Gyrfalcon northeast of the
Field Road 90 north of the potato farm (good scope looks from the car so
the wind didn't blow us away. A good looking, but wet Peregrine perched
on a pole on Farm-to-Market Rd. A look at a Prairie Falcon dive-bombing
a Peregrine from the West 90 and then sitting down. Relatively close to
the Prairie was a Short-eared Owl. Later, we had a SEOW fly alongside
the car and put down on the edge of the road about 12 feet away - Yow!
Lots of Trumpeter Swans around the Samish. Later, down on Dodge Valley
Rd we had a Merlin blast across the road and after some gulls (you know
Merlins - they always think they are the biggest, baddest one around). A
nice look a Tundra Swans along the same road. About 2000 Snow Geese
south of the North Fork access on Fir Island. The Black-crowned
Night-Herons were in their usual place off Fir Island Road. Didn't start
raining seriously until we were on the way home. Two to three lifers for
my client. Good day!
