My name is Jeremiah Trimble. I am a college student from
Massachusetts. I subscribed to your listserv a month or so
ago and have been reading the posts with great interest.

I was wondering if I could request some information about
birding at several areas in western Washington. A friend
and I are planning a trip to Washington this coming
September. I am interested in getting some info on the most
common birds and recommended sites for birding during early
September.

Our itinerary is as follows:

We arrive in Seattle. Frow here we will continue to down to
Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens. What are the best trails
and sites for birding in Sept. in these areas? And what are
the most common birds there?

>From here we will continue to Westport and a pelagic trip.
Do you recommend any other areas around here? How about
common birds for these areas?

>From there we will move north up the Olympic Peninsula
spending time at the Hoh Rain Forest and some of the beaches
along the coast. What are the common birds and best
trails/birding sites in this area?

>From there we will take a ferry from Port Angeles to
Victoria for a day and then on to the San Juan Islands for
the end of the trip. We will take a ferry from the San
Juans to the mainland and then back to Seattle. Any
suggestions/common birds for these areas?

I realize that this is a very hefty request. I would
appreciate ANY help that you could provide as I am quite
unfamiliar with the area! Thanks very much for your time!
