I read, last year, in the Reifel newsletter that they are aware of the
mallard feeding situation, but decided that if they tried to restrict
the feeding to the entrance area it would please all of the people some
of the time.

Parents would not bring their young kids to Reifel without a duck feed.
Hence, possibly, no future birders, so I think let the ducks be fed and
serious birders pass on through to the sanctuary proper.
