Can anyone give driving directions to Iona Island, south of Vancouver? We
couldn't find a road marked on any of our maps. It looks like access is by
boat or foot or bike. Any clues?

A follow up on the comments about my Reifel email.
I concur with the idea that people can encourage kids to get into birding by
being exposed to birds and certainly the chickadees eating out of the little
girls' hands was enchanting, but being mobbed by mallards even in the
farthest reaches of the sanctuary was disheartening. The ducks see you way
out on the dike, overlooking the beach and come roaring at you. I was
almost knocked over by an over zealous female who slid about 3 feet in the
mud before she came to a stop. Anyhow, it is a fine place and certainly the
fat ducks and pigeons provide a feast for assorted other critters.
