Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
recording was made Thursday February 11. If you have anything to add call
Harry Nehls at 233-3976.

A female TUFTED DUCK is now being seen on Garrison Lake in Port Orford.
Take 18th. Street off Highway 101 and go west about four blocks to the
Pinehurst Fishing Dock. Scope the lake for three scaup and this duck.

The EASTERN PHOEBE continues to be seen at mile post 9 along North Bank
Road in the Coquille Valley.

The Brownsmead GYRFALCON is still being seen. It moves around quite a
bit, but apparently does not leave the Brownsmead area. Brownsmead is off
Highway 30, several miles east of Astoria.

The BLUE JAY continues to be seen in Bend. It is with a Steller's Jay
flock in the Romaine Village area at the south end of Bend.

There is a report of a BRAMBLING coming to a feeder in the Tanasbourne
area of Hillsboro. It was first observed on January 31, but is extremely
inconsistent.

On February 4 many KITTIWAKES and five SABINE'S GULLS were see off the
Boiler Bay Viewpoint north of Depoe Bay.

Two GREATER SCAUP, several COMMON GOLDENEYE, and at least two BARROW'S
GOLDENEYE are now on the flooded field at Collins Beach on the east side
of Sauvie Island. A TREE SPARROW visited a St. Helens feeder February 4.
A HERMIT WARBLER was observed February 10 among a large group of
Townsend's and Yellow-rumped Warblers coming to a Lake Oswego feeder.

The BURROWING OWL at the black culvert along 119th. Street east of Salem
is still being seen.

A MOCKINGBIRD is regularly being seen in the E.E. Wilson Wildlife Area
north of Corvallis. It is thought to be the MOCKER that had been
wintering in a Corvallis neighborhood.

On February 6 a TURKEY VULTURE was south of Monmouth. A general movement
is expected within the next week or so.

A SNOW BUNTING was observed February 6 in the farm fields east of
Lebanon. It did not remain to be relocated.

A group of 11 GREATER YELLOWLEGS was along Ogle Road near Brownsville
February 6. A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK is wintering in the same area.

Two TREE SWALLOWS were at Finley NWR February 8. A GREATER SCAUP was on
the Monroe Sewage Ponds that day. Ten GREATER SCAUP, 22 BLACK-BELLIED
PLOVER, and 40 GREATER YELLOWLEGS were at Fern Ridge Reservoir February
6.

On February 5 a ROSS'S GOOSE, a BARN SWALLOW, and two TREE SWALLOWS were
in the White City area of the Rogue Valley.

Thats it for this week.
