Sash, the adult female peregrine that showed up January 25, is still
here, apparently after driving off another female contender.

A falcon watcher on another floor of my Wells Fargo building told me that
he watched Sash and another female tussle last Friday. Today, Sash was
sitting on the east end of the 11th Street Bridge, not far from the
resident male. I haven't seen much overt courting yet, though.

My falcon watcher informant also told me that a week and a half ago, he
saw the resident male peregrine kill a Cooper's Hawk that had intruded
too closely. The male peregrine dropped the Cooper's hawk with one
descending blow, my source said.
