Subject: whence the name "Sash"

Some tweeter folks have asked me about the name of the new adult female
peregrine.
Sash got her name (from me) because of her distinctly odd marking--a wide
band of scorched brown that runs diagonally from her right shoulder down
across her breast to her left flank. It looks like a ceremonial sash that
a dignitary might wear. Hence the name.
