The debate over the Xantus' Hummingbird has been fast and furious. I
propose that we have a vote on whether this bird was a natural occuring bird
or was aided in its travels to B.C.

I don't really want to force everyone to sort through a debate about whether
to vote or not so lets just vote.

If you think the bird got to B.C. under its own power, in the subject line
of an e-mail to Tweeters put:

XAHU - yes

If you think the bird had some help in getting there and therefore was not a
countable species, put:

XAHU - no

There is no need to expound on your vote so please don't write in the body
of the e-mail.

Please only vote one time. Those of us at home will be able to keep score.

I am not presuming to think that this vote will have any influence on the
official decision about this Xantus' Hummingbird. This vote is only for
human interest.

Let the voting begin. The deadline for voting is Monday evening, Feb. 15,
8:00 p.m. PST.
