the German names:

Picture 1: Eistaucher, English name Common Loon (Gavia immer)

Picture 2: Weisskopfmoewe (no English name found, but a literal
translation is White-headed Gull.) Latin name is Larus kachinnans. To
translate from the book, "Die Voegel Mitteleuropas" by Detlef Singer: The
White-Headed Gull is very similar to the Herring Gull (Silbermoewe), Larus
argentatus, but has yellow feet and a somewhat darker back, the wingtips
are somewhat longer than the tail and overtop them while standing. Nesting
is rare in central Europe, a few pairs in Schleswig-Holstein.

Picture 3: Gimpel; English name Bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula), juvenile.

Picture 4: Blaukehlichen, English name Bluethroat (Luscinia sveciea)

Picture 5: Pfeifente, English name Eurasian Wigeon (Anas penelope).

Picture 6: Feldschwirl, English name Grasshopper Warbler (Locustella
maevia). All European warblers look alike, but are seldom seen, and shout
out from every bush and tree. One must know their song and habitat in
order to identify them.

Picture 7: Tafelente, English name Pochard (Aythya ferina).

Picture 8: Sprosser, English name Thrush Nightingale (Luscinia luscinia).

Picture 9: Swergmoewe, English name Little Gull (Larus minutus)

Picture 10: Kraehenscharbe, English name Shag (Phalacrocorax aristotelis),
a type of Cormorant.
