Sightings for Saturday, February 13th
The GYRFALCON was sighted on a light beacon off Steveson's Dairy Point.
The PRAIRIE FALCON was at its usual location at the foot of 34th in Delta..
Also in Delta was a PEREGRINE FALCON at 80th & Hwy #10 and an AMERICAN
KESTREL at 41B & 28B St. Also at this location were 5 male EURASIAN
WIGEON.
In a gull roost off Burns Rd. near 88th were a SLATY-BACKED GULL, HERRING
GULL, a 1st year GLAUCOUS GULL and a WESTERN GULL. A MERLIN was also
reported from this area.
Another SLAY-BACKED GULL was seen in a roost along 72nd.
The ROSS'S GOOSE was seen at Coquitlam's Como Lake Park between 2:00 & 3:00
this afternoon.
On the Port Coquitlam side of Colony Farm Regioinal Park were 2 SHORT-EARED
OWLS and a possible KRIDER'S RACE RED-TAILED HAWK.
Three CRESTED MYNAS were reported from Wylie & 1st in Vancouver.
Friday, February, 12th
Two MARBLED GODWITS were again reported from the foot of 12th in
Tsawwassen.
An AMERICAN KESTREL was sighted along the Coal Port Hwy west of Hwy 17.
Thursday, February 11th
A GYRFALCON was observed flying south along the foreshore at the Reifel
Refuge.
The PRAIRIE FALCON was sighted at the foot of 34th St. in Delta.
Also in Delta on 41B near 33A Ave. was a male winter plumaged YELLOW-HEADED
BLACKBIRD in the company of Red-winged and Brewer's Blackbirds.
Three WESTERN GULLS were located on Burns Dr. near 88th,
There were no reports for Wednesday, February 10th.
Tuesday, February 9th
The ROSS'S GOOSE was observed at Coquitlam's Como Lake Park from 11:00 till
at least noon.
Also seen in the Harbour Dr. area of Coquitlam was a BAND-TAILED PIGEON.
A BARN OWL was seen south of Port Kells off Harvey Rd. in Surrey.
From the foot of 12th in Tsawwassen's Boundary Bay Regional Park came the
report of 2 MARBLED GODWIT, 4 EURASIAN WIGEON and 5 GREATER YELLOWLEGS.
A SHORT-EARED OWL was seen north of 52nd & Hwy 17.
Monday, February, 8th
A SHORT-EARED OWL was seen at Boundary Bay Regional Park.
The SLATY-BACKED GULL was spotted at Burns Dr. & 88th in Delta.
In a field near River Rd. & 34th Ave. in Ladner were 1 MARBLED GODWIT in
the company of 2,000+ BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER and 8,000+ DUNLIN.
Reifel had a report of a NORTHERN SHRIKE.
