i had a very birdy morning at volunteer park, including two new park birds for
me. almost all of the birds were seen while standing in one spot over about a
20 minute period, at the north end of the leash free area, on either side of
the path. the two birds new to my park list were varied thrush(odd that i'd
never seen it there before) and red-breasted sapsucker. also seen were about
75-100 dark eyed juncos, 50-60 american robins, an obscenity of starlings,
WINTER WREN, BEWICKS WREN, BROWN CREEPER, RED BREASTED NUTHATCH, BLACK-CAPPED
CHICKADEE, GOLDEN CROWNED KINGLET, RUBY CROWNED KINGLET, SONG SPARROW, FOX
SPARROW(FULIGINOSA), BUSHTITS, and one HOUSE FINCH. so many tiny birds!

not too bad for the most highly populated neighborhood in washington!
