Hi Tweets,
To nice of weather to stay home. Saturday we made a 210 mile trip to
Wenatchee.
Nothing unusual for this time of year, but we did see forty-one species.

Yesterday we made a trip to Nespelem, across Cache Creek, south along
the
San Poil River, across the ferry, up the hill to Wilbur and back to
Grand Coulee.
Beautiful day! Thirty three species-ninety three miles.
We saw four NORTHERN SHRIKE between Grand Coulee and Nespelem.
Last year we had DOWNY AND HAIRY WOODPECKERS in our neighborhood.
This year none. Going across Cache Creek we saw both. Jerry got some
good pictures.
They are so busy, they hardly notice you are there.
The highlight of the day for Jerry was a lovely GRAY JAY. We spotted
him on Cache
Creek. For me, the two AMERICAN DIPPERS among the rocks in the San Poil
River. We have never seen two together before. Hopefully, that means
there will be little
American Dippers.
There was a RUFFED GROUSE crossing the road along the San Poil. He was
moving
so slow. Maybe he though we would not see him if he moved real slow.
Fun!
>From the ferry to the top of the hill, there were twenty seven deer. One
had a MAGPIE
on his back. To far away for a picture.
Today we are heading toward Bridgeport to see what we can find.
Good birding and enjoy the weather!
