While bicycling through the Snohomish Valley on Sunday, we passed a
grassy field containing 32 Trumpeter Swans, including several juveniles.
One adult had a pale green neck band (could not discern the numbers).
Associated with the swans were several mallards and a large flock of
Canada Geese. The field was on the north side of the Old Snohomish-Monroe
Road about a mile east of the Pilchuck River Bridge (where a new bridge is
under construction), just before the road turns and goes uphill. The swans
seemed quite unconcerned as we stopped to watch them.
