Sightings for Tuesday, February 16th

A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen flying over Hwy 10 near 88th.

Along the Boundary Bay Dike between 72nd & 64th were 3 SHORT-EARED OWLS.

Monday, February 15th

The ROSS'S GOOSE was observed at Coquitlam's Como Lake Park.

Two WESTERN GULLS were sighted on Burns Dr. between 96th & 88th.

The HARRIS'S SPARROW was at its usual location in the alley in the 2500 blk
of 12th in Vancouver.

Also from Vancouver was a report of 4 CRESTED MYNAS at Wylie & 1st and on
the Stanley Park shoreline between 2nd & 3rd Beach were 8 BLACK
OYSTERCATCHERS.

The BLUE JAY was seen near Pinewood & Rosewood in Delta in the company of
Steller's Jays.

Seen from the White Rock Pier were 2 EARED GREBES.

Sunday, February 14th

On the monthly VNHS raptor count in the Brunswick Point area of Delta was
the PRAIRIE FALCON at the foot of 34th, an AMERICAN KESTREL & MERLIN at the
foot of the Robert's Bank Jetty and along Delta Port Road a PEREGRINE
FALCON. A total of 11 SHORT-EARED OWLS were counted in the Brunswick Point
portion of the count.

Another SHORT-EARED OWL was reported from Boundary Bay Regional Park.

From the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty came sightings of an AMERICAN BLACK DUCK
and 6 EURASIAN WIGEON.

A LONG-EARED OWL was discovered on 72nd.

Spring might be closer than we think with the report of a courtship
displaying BAND-TAILED PIGEON from 37A Ave. in Langley.

A CRESTED MYNA was seen at 1st & Crowe St. in Vancouver.

A KRIDER'S RACE RED-TAILED HAWK was observed in the N.E. field of Colony
Farm.

The ROSS'S GOOSE was reported from Como Lake.

Saturday, February 13th

The GYRFALCON was sighted on a light beacon off Steveson's Garry Point.

The PRAIRIE FALCON was at the foot of 34th in Delta. Also in Delta was a
PEREGRINE FALCON at 80th & Hwy #10 and an AMERICAN KESTREL at 41B & 28B St.
Also at this location were 5 male EURASIAN WIGEON.

In a gull roost off Burns Rd. near 88th were a SLATY-BACKED GULL, HERRING
GULL, a 1st year GLAUCOUS GULL and a WESTERN GULL. A MERLIN was also
reported from this area.

Another SLAY-BACKED GULL was seen in a roost along 72nd.

The ROSS'S GOOSE was seen at Coquitlam's Como Lake Park between 2:00 & 3:00
this afternoon.

Three CRESTED MYNAS were reported from Wylie & 1st in Vancouver.
