The Columbia Gorge Audubon Society conducted a Late Winter Raptor Count of
the Columbia Hills, Washington, on Sunday, February 7th, with 19
participants. The Columbia Hills are roughly bounded by the Columbia River
on the south, the community of Lyle on the west, the Klickitat Valley on the
north, and Rock Creek on the east and is roughly centered at the Maryhill
Museum. The area is approximately equivalent to a Christmas Bird Count circle.

To bring greater awareness of this Important Bird Area, The Columbia Gorge
Audubon Society is considering having an annual Columbia Hills Winter Raptor
Festival beginning next year.
