Hello Tweeters:

My wife and I will be visiting the Pacific Northwest for a
business/pleasure trip April 17-25 of this year. Most of my weekdays
will be filled with business but I'm hoping to get in some special
birding on the weekends.

I intend to spend a day in Vancouver (plus a short day in Victoria,
Vancouver Island) as well as a scenic day-long drive from Portland to
Seattle.

I'm hoping some of you can suggest what "hot spots" I really should see
while in those areas. If you want to know target birds, I'd have to say
Crested Myna, Skylark, any grouse (or is it grice?), north waters
wanderers, and most any "mountain" bird. Modesty aside, my life list
stands at just over 500 and my wife's over 300. I say that only to give
an indication of what other target birds might do the trick.

And, of course, if any of you would like to play guide for part of any
day, I can offer free lunch, good company (bad jokes), and a
reciprocating invitation to visit our neck of the woods (California's
Central Coast) for a guided hot spots tour.
