Like Barn Owls Tyto alba, Long-eared Owls Asio otus is highly nocturnal.
Typicallly, one sees Barn Owls day-hunting only when there's stress on the
local population (ie, persistent snow-cover). I wonder if the same is true
of this Long-eared.
