Sightings for Tuesday, February 23rd
The SLATY-BACKED GULL was sighted along Burns Dr. near 80th.

Near the base of the Roberts Bank Jetty was the GYRFALCON and a MERLIN.

A PEREGRINE was seen near 27B & 52nd St. in Delta. Further west along 27B
were a MERLIN and a SHORT-EARED OWL. Another SHORT-EARED OWL was observed
at Boundary Bay Regional Park. At the Beach Grove Lagoon at the foot of
12th in Tsawwassen was a MARBLED GODWIT. A BARN OWL was on 52nd near Hwy
17.

A BLACK OYSTERCATCHER was reported from the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty.

The only report not coming from Delta was from Stanley Park's Ferguson
Point with the sighting of 2 ROCK SANDPIPERS.



Monday, February 22nd
The SLATY-BACKED GULL along with a 1st winter plumaged GLAUCOUS GULL were
seen in a large gull roost on 88th north of Burns Dr. in Delta.

Two BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were observed on the north side of the Roberts
Bank Jetty.

A PEREGRINE FALCON was sighted at the junction of Hwy's 10 & 17.

From Burnaby's Deer Lake Park came the report of a GREAT HORNED OWL.



Sunday, February 21st
The ROSS'S GOOSE was reported from Coquitlam's Como Lake Park.

A singing HUTTON'S VIREO was seen at West Vancouver's Klootchman Park. Off
shore on the Grebe Islets was a BLACK OYSTERCATCHER.

A PEREGRINE FALCON was sighted in the 2300 block of Wall St. in east
Vancouver.

An AMERICAN BITTERN was observed at the Reifel Refuge.



Saturday, February 20th
The PRAIRIE FALCON and GYRFALCON were seen between the end of 34th and the
Coal Port Jetty.

The BLUE JAY was reported from Delta on Ivywood Place and at the Pinewood
Elementary School.

A HARRIS'S SPARROW was located with a flock of White-crowned Sparrows in
brambles near 13941 - 40th Ave in Surrey. This location is west of 140st.

The following birds were seen at the Reifel Refuge: a PEREGRINE FALCON, 2
GREAT HORNED OWLS, 6 GREATER YELLOWLEGS and a BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERON.

An EARED GREBE was observed 1km west of the White Rock Pier.

A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was observed at Iona.

The ROSS'S GOOSE was reported from Como Lake.
