Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
recording was made Thursday February 25. If you have anything to add call

The GYRFALCON continues to be seen at Brownsmead, east of Astoria.

The BLUE JAY near the Environmental Center in Bend continues to be see.
It was last reported near the intersection of Georgia and Hunter Streets.

RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS were reported from near Bandon and from Coos Bay
during the week. Small groups of TURKEY VULTURES and TREE SWALLOWS were
reported from many areas, especially from the Willamette Valley. CINNAMON
TEAL are also showing up.

A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was in Brookings February 21.

A LESSER YELLOWLEGS was with 60 GREATER YELLOWLEGS at Coos Bay February
22. There are now 13 OLDSQUAWS in Coos Bay at CVharleston, and another 5
at Yaquina Bay. A flock of 30 WESTERN SANDPIPERS was at Yaquina Bay
February 23.

An EMPEROR GOOSE is now being seen with the resident Canada Goose flock
at Tillamook Bay. It is most often seen near Fink Road west of the town
of Tillamook. On February 19 an ANCIENT MURRELET was next to the road at
Meares Lake, and a BARN SWALLOW was flying about Garibaldi.

The HARRIS'S SPARROW coming to a northeast Portland feeder continues to
be seen. A RED-BREASTED GOOSE was at Ankeny NWR south of Salem February
20.

Up to 17 TRUMPETER SWANS are now in the Airlie area of southwest Polk
County. The MOCKINGBIRD at the E.E. Wilson Wildlife Area continues to be
seen near the Pheasant pens. A BARRED OWL was in Corvallis February 19.
It was along Angelica Drive north of the Highland Drive and Walnut Blvd.

The SNOW BUNTING continues to be seen east of Lebanon near the
intersection of 7 Mile Road and Glasser Road. A BURROWING OWL was found
during the week at a culvert under Glasser Road not far from the Snow
Bunting site. The two LONG-BILLED CURLEWS have remained in the fields
along 7 Mile Road three miles south of Glasser Road.

Two FERRUGINOUS HAWKS were among a large number of hawks seen between
Bend and Prineville February 21. Three were at the Lower Klamath NWR
February 14. A CINNAMON TEAL and a RED-SHOULDERED HAWK were in Klamath
Fall during the week.
