The Cornell Lab of Ornithology's Nest Box Network and The North
American Bluebird Society are pleased to announce

BIRDHOUSE ONLINE! [Visit <<http://birds.cornell.edu> and click on the
Birdhouse Online icon.]

This interactive web site invites you to observe nest-box birds in your
backyard or schoolyard and submit your observations online. It's a
great hands-on (and online) way for children, families, students, and
teachers to learn about nature and science while observing the lives of
birds up close!

Features of BIRDHOUSE ONLINE:

*A COLORING CONTEST-Color a bluebird, Wood Duck or American Kestrel.
Your picture might be posted on the web site and you might WIN A
BIRDHOUSE!

*THE NEST-BOX CAM-View the lives of nesting birds up close LIVE on the
nest-box cam. See the eggs hatch, and watch the parents feed the
nestlings until they are ready to fledge.

*THE GREAT NORTH AMERICAN BLUEBIRD COUNT-May 14-17, 1999. Tell us where
the bluebirds are in North America during this 4-day survey of Eastern,
Western, and Mountain bluebirds.

*COOL MAPS-Watch the maps change each time you enter your observations
as the breeding season progresses from Louisiana to Manitoba.

*IT'S FREE!-Visit the site now and find out how and where to put up a
birdhouse so you're ready! <<http://birds.cornell.edu>
