Hi Tweeties,

Just thought I'd let you know the Kent Eagles are still holding court on
the tree across from Russell Road at W. James. Saw them there this morning.
Late this morning one was soaring about between the golf course and the
ball fields.

What got me wondering is why would "tweetie boids" sit on the branches of
the same tree the baldies are hanging out in? Wouldn't the "tweeties" be
scared $&^%less and get as far away from the eagles as they could?

Another question, this tree the baldies have been hanging out in is
pretty tall and big. Any chance these baldies might be making their home
in that tree?

Later today I was out at the Kent Ponds and spied a frowsy sub-adult bald
eagle sitting on a log out in the lagoon. (Thanks to Deb Beuter's
descriptions of the various plumage of young baldies, I was able to ID it
as a baldie). Gee, even bald eagles go through a gawkward unattractive
adolescent stage.

It was a bit blustery at Kent Ponds, but I was treated to the sight of
SIX Great Blue Herons all taking off at once from a patch of marshy
ground not far from where I was standing. Quite a sight to behold.

Well, tomorrow I go back to work......No more weekday birding treks.
Whaaa!.........No, wait.......I'll be working an assignment across from
Gasworks Park. Anything interesting up there I can look out for?
