This afternoon there were two male Eurasian Race Green-winged Teals and one
(presumably) female in the Black River Slough just north of the intersection
of Oakesdale with Monster, north of I-405, north of Southcenter. The pair was
fairly close to the bank, about 20 yards away, for several minutes. The other
male was closer to the three cottonwood trees at the eastern end of the
Slough.

There were 52 Great Blue Herons either on nests or roosting in the
cottonwoods, by the way.
