Columbia Estuary Report - 01/03/99

The ARCTIC LOON reported on the Wahkiakum CBC in Blind Slough near
Brownsmead was apparently not relocated by searchers on Friday. Anyone
who has gone looking and seen it is asked to let the rest of us know.
I should have video captures to post by the end of the week.

A NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was in the willows near the west dike of the
Warrenton Sewage Ponds on Saturday making lots of noise.

Three OLD-TAILED DUCKS were on Trestle Bay near the parking lot D
wildlife bunker. An EARED GREBE was also present.

There appear to be two WHITE-TAILED KITES at the Astoria Airport now,
a first winter bird and an adult.

Bucky Barnett has 4 ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS and 2 TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS
coming to his hummingbird feeders in Astoria
