My mother and I observed the Skylark today at the previous location at
Dungeness,CL from 11am-12pm, for "our" 6th record since the
Sequim-Dungeness CBC on the 21st. The bird was well observed and
photographed at 10ft, as the bird rested motionless. The bird was only seen
in the north field today, as it was flushed several times. The weather was
great, with mostly sunny skies, and a slight breeze. We also birded
Graysmarsh, where a single HERMIT THRUSH was noted near the entrance, then
a fairy quick check of Port Williams Bay at the east end of Port Williams
Rd., produced 4 EARED GREBES, 1 SPOTTED SANDPIPER, 12 OLDSQUAW, and 5
MARBLED MURRELETS among other more common saltwater species.
