Maybe we can work on the House Sparrow problem at feeders so they are
more susceptible to the Merlins and Sharpies that visit our back
yards.

Hi All:

In response to Tyler's new-found use of his mini-laser
pointer to shoo unwanted birds away...I read an
article (in the Times?) within the last month on
eye damage caused in kids by shining these things
into each other's eyes. I don't know if birds' eyes
are sufficiently different as to not suffer this
type of damage, but it evidently caused blindness
in the eye of one of these kids.
