Subject: Crow corrections

HI Tweeters:
I have a couple of corrections to my e-mail of yesterday:
1) The quote from John T. Ratti's should have read: "Johnston's reports of
voice pattern were subjective, i.e. did not include analysis of sonograms,
AND are equivocal." Also in the next to last line I meant to say "lump"
not split.
In Pyle's Identification Guide to North American Birds: Part 1 under
the American Crow he saysthe following:"In juvs, look for the mouth lining
to be pinker(vs. orange)". I wonder if mouth lining color is an isolating
mechanism (for speciation) in crows?
Sincerely
