Well - I spoke too soon. After I sent out the Marymoor year-end summary on
Tuesday, Brian pointed out that we DID see American Bittern. I rechecked my
notes and found two trips that had never made it into my database. So here
are the revisions:

Brian Bell and I managed 50 trips to Marymoor Park this year.

We totaled 114 species for the year, averaging 38+ species a visit (a number
which has remained constant over the years).

Total birds counted was 26,757 - down from 1997's 34,216, but higher than in
1995 (21,547) or 1996 (24,465).

American Bittern 1 compared with 4, 2, 12, and 7
Northern Harrier 2 compared with 12, 17, 13, and 15
(comparison with years '94-'97
respectively)
