I was most impressed with this CBC which just came in from BirdHawk -

The 1998 Fisherville ON Christmas Bird Count took place on
January 2, 1999. Temperatures ranged from +5 to +22 degF, and the
count was completed just ahead of last weekend's major snow
storm. The Fisherville count area, centered on 42o50'N - 79o50'W,
whihc includes a portion of the Grand River, is almost entirely
flat farmland, with many mostly decidous woodlots of varying
sizes, situated on the north shore of Lake Erie. It is known to
Ontario birders as a winter haven for hawks and owls. This year
was no exception. A total of 26 TURKEY VULTURES, almost certainly
a Canadian CBC record, were seen, as were an immature BALD EAGLE,
34 NORTHERN HARRIERS, 8 SHARP-SHINNED HAWKS, 5 COOPER'S HAWKS, a
NORTHERN GOSHAWK, 25 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, 329 RED-TAILED HAWKS and
51 AMERICAN KESTRELS. As if that wasn't enough, the count also
tallied 91 EASTERN SCREECH OWLS, 30 GREAT HORNED OWLS, 16 LONG-
EARED OWLS, 27 SHORT-EARED OWLS and 2 NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWLS."
