A drive up to the Samish and Skagit Flats brought four Falcon species to
Margi Palmer and myself. We missed seeing a Gryfalcon today. We found
an American Kestrel on the Frontage Road in Mount Vernon. A very wet
Peregrine sat on a telephone pole on Cook Road east of Hwy 11 and
another Peregrine flew across a field and then landed near Sunset Road.
A Prairie Falcon was hanging around the West 90 and with the help of Ian
McGregor we hung around long enough for it to show itself. A Merlin
flew from a tree off of Chilberg Rd just North of Fir Island.

Other highlights included a Barn Owl, Short-eared Owl and a Cooper's
Hawk. We found 5+ Rough-legged Hawks, numerous Northern Harriers, Bald
Eagles and Red-tailed Hawks including a Harlans at the West 90. A fun
day with NO rain.
