Hello Tweets,

Vicki Biltz, and my mother and I birded E.Grays Harbor and Thurston Cos.in
typical NW weather for January; RAIN, starting by birding along
N.Blockhouse Rd. at the Clay-colored-Chipping Sparrow location at 8am,
where my mother observed the bird, which she thought to be a CLAY-COLORED
SPARROW, with only a brief look. The bird couldn't be relocated upon
extensive searching several times during the morning. We observed and
photographed the N.MOCKINGBIRD in Elma at 9am and 11:30am, with 4 W.SCRUB
JAYS in the general vicinity. We also birded along the entire Brady Loop
Rd., west of Satsop, where good numbers of N.Pintails and Am.Wigeon were
observed along with 4 EUR.WIGEON, and 1 EUR.X AM.WIGEON. Other notable
species included: 2 GR.W.F.GEESE, 1 R.L.HAWK, 5 L.B.DOWITCHERS, 25 DUNLIN,
2 C.SNIPE, and 17 B.B.PLOVERS. At the Schouweiler Rd.(Chehalis Wildlife
Area)Wetland there were 2 early TREE SWALLOWS,and 3 Y.R.Warblers. On our
way home we birded a few other locations in Thurston Co. including Mud Bay,
where 25 GR.YELLOWLEGS were noted, 8 BLACK SCOTERS at E.Bay(Budd Inlet),
then the LITTLE GULL, 1 MERLIN, 1 COMMON LOON, and a small flock(10-12)of
TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS at Am.Lake(Pierce Co.).
