Well, the weather cleaned up and Jim and I headed off for
the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge..

lots of ducks and geese...song sparrows, juncos and a small
herd of Meadowlarks..lbj's were kinda flat..for the most
part..

raptors were active...watched old baldy fly up McCallister
Creek toward the nest.. couple of Harriers working a little..
got a N. Shrike wayy-yyyyy out on a bush..a female kestrel
a juvie redtail and an interesting dark morph redtail adult..
couldn't get close enough for particulars, but suspect it
may be a rufous morph..REALLY dark breast..reddish tail..
will try and get a scope on it next time.

on the way out, there was another immie redtail in a tree over
the road...

a pleasant dalliance on an otherwise busy weekend

Tom
