Hello Tweets,

The immature male RUSTIC BUNTING, initially present since November, and
only recently comfirmed was again seen and photographed today for about one
hour between 8:25am-9:15am, just outside the immediate town of Leavenworth
in Chelan Co. at the previous location, and should be tried for only by
PHONE CALL reservation. The bird foraged loosely with a rather large flock
of Dark-eyed Juncos and House Finches with a few "Slate-colored"Juncos, 3
Golden-crowned and Song Sparrows, Pine Siskins, and 1 female PURPLE FINCH.
About 20 observers were present during "our" generous indoor visit to the
residence, but was unable to be relocated after the initial sighting today
at 9:15am, which was attempted even after my mother and I left at 1:30pm. A
N.PYGMY OWL and imm.Cooper's Hawk were both present at the residence,
during the unsuccessful wait, which the owl was photographed low at close
range. The weather was quite pleasant, but cloudy in Leavenworth, with
partial clearing, and Stevens Pass, which my mother and I went over was
bare and wet, with minor slush patches. A special "THANK YOU" goes out to
Connie McCauley for more than generous offerings of having birders come
inside her home for viewing priviledges, so if you plan to visit remember
to please call for reservations and directions at 509-548-5582.
