Bird Songs of the Pacific States (2 CD's)
Includes 133 species and 2 species of frogs. Each species gets a little less
than a minute. Recordings are clean, background sounds are usually other
species or the same species, but directionality on main species is good.
My only complaint with this set is that the completeness of the songs and
calls for each species is somewhat limited although each species does get
sufficient time for the song or call that was recorded; and the background
bird sounds are not identified. For example, the SORA recording focuses upon
its shorter call while in the background you can hear the SORA whinney, but
you are not told that this background sound is also a SORA. Whereas, the
background sounds for most other recordings are actually the sounds of a
different species.
Overall I am quite happy with this set, and see it as a valuable part of a
CD collection.
