On Saturday, Jan. 9, I rafted the Skagit River from Marblemount to
Rockport at noon. The upper two thirds of the run had only 4 Bald
Eagles. In that strech there were two American Dippers on shore rocks,
two female Common Mergansers, and a Great Blue Heron perched high in a
bare tree posing as a Bald Eagle from behind. In the lower third of the
run, there faithfully appeared 114 Bald Eagles.
