Up on the Flats today I finally got my five falcon day for this year. A
Kestrel was in its same spot South of Mt. Vernon on the East Frontage
Road. The Gyr was next in a field between Sunset and Field Roads. A
Peregrine flew after a large flock of Dunlin and then zoomed over a
flock of ducks but still came up short and I saw another one from the
East 90. At the West 90 the Prairie was posing from a fence post. That
left a Merlin to find and after driving around for awhile I found two in
Edison and another one at Bayview State Park.

I wasn't really looking for falcons today but instead was trying to
locate the Snowy Owl that was seen between Sunset and Field over the
weekend. I didn't locate it but I'm not too disappointed.
