Around the first of the year, the Emperor Goose at/around the Game Farm in
Sequim, WA seemed to fly the coop. On Jan 3rd and 4th, an Emperor was seen
on flooded baseball fields at Lincoln Park on the West side of Port Angeles.
On Jan 6, it (?) was again seen in the Port Angeles area on private land. I
don't know of any sightings since. Bob Boekelheide and I have discussed
whether this might have been the Sequim bird or a second one. At present,
it looks like a single bird that is wandering farther afield than its more
predictable stay at the Game Farm. We will post if more recent sightings
are made in the area.
