Hello Tweets,

Ken Knittle and I birded mainly Clallam Co. today the best highlights
included: one second-winter ICELAND GULL and one GYRFALCON both near
Dungeness, and 2 CASSIN'S AUKLETS off of Ediz Hook. The gull was approached
within 15ft.(close range)for excellent, quality views, and was observed for
30min. with 6-7 "Olympic" Gulls. The bird was slighly smaller than the
other nearby gulls, pale throughout; straight, bicolored bill(pale at very
tip, dark, then pale to base), small white eye, with dark iris, pale pink
legs and feet. The mantle was darker than the head, but still pale. The
bird in profile seemed much smaller throughout than a GLACOUS GULL , but of
the basic color. We attempted for the SKYLARK with NO luck, just west of
Dungeness. We also birded Jefferson Co. with TRUMPETER SWANS in three
locations along Hood Canal: 7 at Leland Lk., 8 at Quilcene, and 10 at
Dosewalips River(mouth). We also saw a first-winter GLAUCOUS GULL at
Duckabush.
