That's a grand idea and in fact Merideth and Rick had already thought of that
and donated a nice big bag of bird seed for the McCauley's on Sunday. I
remember thinking what a terrific gesture and wishing I'd thought of that.
That being said, I can see the McCauley's suddenly being inundated now with
enough bird seed to open their own "Wild Birds Unlimited!" On the other hand,
Mrs. McCauley has placed a jar on the counter for anyone wishing to make a
donation, the proceeds destined for the local Audubon chapter and I'd hope
also to help defray costs of supporting the little Asiatic visitor from afar.
Donation to the till sounds most reasonable to me and certainly is a lot
cheaper than going to Attu! For those of us on Sunday feeling a bit exhausted
and starting to ponder a bit about becoming snowbound, we started musing that
the McCauley house would make a pretty fine 'bed and breakfast' as well.
