Tweeter folks--

April the Peregrine, who died in Tacoma during the New Year's weekend,
now has a final home.

She is under the care of Dennis Paulson in the bird collection at the
Slater Natural History Museum at the University of Puget Sound.

[I'm reluctant to dub living wild birds and creatures with familiar
names. But to remember her now that she's gone, I've named her for the
month she arrived last spring--April the Peregrine.]

By the way, a juvenile female peregrine showed up in town on January 11,
and she's still around. I haven't seen much interaction between her and
the resident male yet, except that they tolerate each other on the bridge
at the same time.

But I'm watching. And my Tacoma Peregrine web pages will report anything
noteworthy.
